Why it’s important to Stay in Shape as an Entrepreneur
As we all know worrying about our finances and focusing in our business as entrepreneurs doesn’t help our bodies at all. It seems that as our wallets grow fatter our stomachs do too. Physical shape is as important as being financially fit, studies have shown exercising regularly promotes a happier life. As corny as that sounds, remember that exercising regularly can be the best decision you and your financial life can take.
Some of the major benefits working out brings to the table are :
- Weight control
- Mood improvement
- Energy boost
- Better sleep
Who doesn’t NEED any of these benefits? It seems that as fit as you may think you are, we all need that extra boost in our lives.
Keeping your body in shape can help you create that confidence and energy a strong leader evokes. CEOs around the world are known for being above average, for thinking quickly under pressure and staying focused on their tasks. All these qualities and charisma can be improved in your life by getting rid of that extra weight.
Entrepreneurs and CEOs can benefit substantially from a good work out, especially because of all the stress it takes to build a successful business. Dealing with angry customers/employees and over thinking business strategies can create stress you don’t want to bring home with you. Even some of the worlds most successful CEOs exercise on a daily basis.
Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO usually hits the gym club around 5 a.m., when he is not doing that, he likes to hike or go cycling. That doesn’t stop him from doing his job, he is the first to arrive at the office and the last one to leave. No excuses!!
Tips for staying on track with your program.
1. Believe: Believe that you can achieve your physical goals, believe that you can change your daily routine and become a better person.
2. Schedule: Set yourself a schedule and plan out your work out routines. If you can’t find the time: Wake up Early!! (You will feel better doing this after the first week)
3. Find a partner: Whether it is your spouse or a friend from work, motivate each other, this becomes helpful when you don’t want to do that extra push and you have a partner motivating you to succeed.
4. Make it fun: Find some music to inspire you during your workout. Find new places to go for your morning run. Always look for new activities to spice up your routine.
In my personal life I have found that the more I work-out, the more I create and accomplish. The first week is the hardest but is essential for the process of change into the person we want to become. Let’s remember nothing in this world is given to us in a silver platter, we have to WORK for it. You don’t change 5 years from abusing your body in just a week, it takes time, but is worth it.
I have worked out most of my life, but I recently found a program by Greg Plitt, trainer and model that gives the best results I’ve seen during 28 days. I thought I should share, the program is completely Free, no membership, sign-up or what so ever. While being on the program I have noticed the increase in focus and personal achievements being done in my life.
